Moments in Time – Boating

A few years ago, we went on a day trip.  While at an outdoor shopping mall, we came upon an area of children’s rides.  Our grown sons were feeling playful.  Normally, I would have put a quick stop to their shenanigans; but for some reason, that day felt so carefree that I wasn’t thinking about the ride breaking or someone getting hurt.  That day, I just let grown boys be little boys….and even encouraged it.  Laughter was plentiful as they crammed their adult bodies into a tiny boat with their knees having nowhere to comfortably go.

Something in my brain kept nagging at the image in front of me.  When we got home, I searched through pictures and there it was, exactly what my eyes remembered seeing.  Laughter had filled another day 19 years before.  Side by side, the images show an unspoken bond of brothers tied together by this and many other memories.

Would you stop it, please. You make me tear up!
My boys (like yours) have grown up way too fast. It seems like just yesterday they were bumping heads on the edge of tables. Have I been sleeping? What happened? Did I wring the absolute most out of every moment?
    Where’s a tissue!
