waterfall
one drop, then two
cascading downward
three drops, four
and then some more
a steady stream begins
pain overflowing
from the heart up through the eyes
down the cheeks until they fall
and spill onto my lap
i hold them as my sole companion
I wrote this as a young adult. I have experienced the same level of sadness many times since then. Most recently, it reflects the grief I feel in the many losses that MS brings. We all experience times when we feel alone. The truth is, God does not leave us alone if we ask Him to be with us.
This Is so moving and beautifully written. A friend in AA once said to me “Don’t keep looking for God; he’s not lost”. x
Thanks Christine. I like what your friend said. God doesn’t hide from us, He is in plain view in so many ways. We sometimes try to hide from Him, but thankfully we cannot.
Amen Sister! 🙂
We both know, don’t we…
Indeed!!! 🙂 Have a wonderful weekend! 🙂
Yes! That is exactly how it feels! Me, too. Thank you.
Glad you read, wish you didn’t understand….but that’s what draws us close to God.
Here’s a great blog post: http://samuelkee.com/2014/10/07/a-virus-that-attacks-christians/
Deuteronomy 31:6 Be strong and courageous. Do not fear or be in dread of them, for it is the LORD your God who goes with you. He will not leave you or forsake you.”
Charles, I’m grateful for the way you encourage and strengthen me. Thank you.
